But why is a software company like Gratex International supporting and co-organizing a film festival? The answer goes back exactly 30 years. In 1995, Gratex produced the first fully computer-animated music video in Slovakia—Balada o štyroch koňoch (Ballad of Four Horses) for jazz legend Peter Lipa. Back then, it was a bold, borderline experiment. Today, AI film represents that same experimental frontier. Fascinatingly, 30 years later, the original creator of the clip, Roman Akáč, has created a brand-new AI version of this iconic video.
For us, Umelina is not just a cultural detour; it is a natural continuation of our company's DNA. Our Gratex Media Team works with AI tools on a daily basis. We know firsthand that while AI can generate a breathtaking shot, it is the human who must turn it into a film.We are incredibly happy that this unique project has already captured the attention of the Slovak media.
